A Message from the Chairman

Whether you are familiar with Lennox Berkeley’s music or discovering it for the first time, I would ask you to consider joining the Berkeley Society – and thereby help us increase the profile of one of the most fascinating and enigmatic of twentieth-century English composers.

The Society exists to increase public awareness of Sir Lennox Berkeley and his music, to advance the knowledge of his life and works, and to encourage and support live performances, and recordings, of his works. We do this in a variety ways.

While major projects can cost many thousands of pounds, most of our grants are for far smaller amounts.  Our income comes from our members, from private donations, and grants made by larger trusts and charities.

I would be delighted if you would consider supporting us. This can be done in a number of ways. You might consider joining as a member, making a one-off donation, supporting a specific project, or remembering us in your will.

For more information about joining the Society, please visit the website at www.lennoxberkeley.org.uk.  You can contact me via the site.

Many thanks,

Petroc Trelawny
